The calculation formula

Overtime hourly rate = actual hourly rate (on full salary, including allowances) + 50% of the basic hourly rate (basic salary only). The hourly rate is calculated by dividing the monthly salary by 30 days, multiplied by daily working hours — this is the standard used in official examples regardless of the actual number of days in the month.

All hours worked on official holidays and Eid are counted as full overtime under this same formula, even if within normal working hours (Article 107, paragraph 3).

FAQ

Why are there separate "basic" and "actual" salaries?
Because the overtime formula combines them differently: the actual hourly rate (including allowances) is paid in full, while the 50% addition is calculated only on the basic salary without allowances.
Does this formula apply to work on Fridays or holidays?
Yes, using the exact same formula — all hours worked on those days count as full overtime regardless of your normal working hours.
