How is GOSI calculated?
For Saudis with an earlier contribution record, 9.75% is deducted from the contributable wage (9% pension + 0.75% SANED). New entrants after 3 July 2024 with no previous contribution record follow the new system's gradual pension-rate increase; the employee's total share became 10.75% from 3 July 2026. The contributable wage remains capped at SAR 45,000/month. For non-Saudis, there is no employee deduction.
The contributable wage has a cap of SAR 45,000/month — any amount above that isn't included in the contribution base, even if your actual salary is higher.
FAQ
Do all allowances count toward GOSI?
No — only the regular housing allowance is added to the basic salary as contributable wage. Other allowances (like transport or phone) typically don't count.
Why is nothing deducted from non-Saudis?
The mandatory pension insurance system applies to Saudis only. Non-Saudis are covered only by occupational hazards insurance, fully paid by the employer with no deduction from the employee.
