The official fees
Dependent levy: SAR 400 per month per dependent (in effect since July 2020). Expat labor levy: SAR 800 per month per expat worker if the number of expats at the company exceeds the number of Saudis, or SAR 700 if they're equal or fewer (in effect since January 2020). Both levies are collected monthly, typically in advance for the duration of the residency.
This amount doesn't include the residency permit issuance or renewal fee itself, the work license, health insurance, or exit/re-entry fees — these are separate fees added on top of the result shown here.
FAQ
How do I know the ratio of expats at my company?
It depends on the Nitaqat Saudization ratio registered on the Qiwa platform, which determines whether the number of non-Saudi employees exceeds the number of Saudis or not.
Can these fees change?
Yes, this calculator uses the currently known official fees, but the values may change in the future by government decision — always check the Absher, Qiwa, and Muqeem platforms to confirm the current fee at the time you act.
