How the official formula works

Household equivalence factor = 1 + (0.5 × dependents 18 or older) + (0.3 × dependents under 18). Full entitlement = the lower of (720 × factor) and SAR 2,088. The exemption threshold (below which support doesn't taper) and the cutoff threshold (above which there's no entitlement) are calculated the same way with different factors (4,310 and 6,856.67 respectively). If your income is below the exemption threshold, you get the full entitlement. If you exceed the cutoff threshold, there's no entitlement. In between, support tapers gradually but never drops below SAR 400 as long as your income stays below the cutoff threshold.

This formula matches the actual code used on the official Citizen's Account website numerically and precisely, and has been verified against published official examples.

FAQ

Is this the actual amount I'll receive?
Not necessarily — this is an educational estimate based only on the income entered, while the official site may apply other eligibility conditions (like assets and wealth) after you log in with your actual data.
Why doesn't the support drop below SAR 400?
This is confirmed behavior in the official formula: as long as your income remains below the "cutoff threshold," the minimum entitlement is SAR 400, even if a purely linear calculation would give a lower number.
