Why do we ask you to enter the exchange rate manually?
Exchange rates change every minute, and require a live, internet-connected data source to fetch them in real time. Instead of relying on a rate that may not be accurate at the time you use it, this calculator lets you enter the actual rate you saw (from your bank's site, a transfer app, or an exchange bureau) to ensure the result is accurate for your exact case.
Rates shown on general rate-listing sites usually represent the "mid-market rate," which may differ from the actual buy or sell rate your bank or exchange bureau applies, since they add their own margin.
FAQ
Where do I get the precise exchange rate?
From your bank's app, the monetary authority's site, or any trusted rate provider. Remember that the rate shown on general sources usually represents the market average, not necessarily the actual rate you'll receive.
What is the "inverse rate"?
It's the reciprocal of the exchange rate you entered (1 ÷ the rate), and shows how much one unit of the target currency is worth in the source currency — useful for quick two-way comparison.
